Fishing

We have 3 well stocked fishing lakes that can cater any level of angler and with plenty of friendly anglers on hand to offer advice you can be sure of an excellent experience.  We also have a stocking programme underway and have recently introduced 2000 juvenile Carp into our nursery lakes. Children are invited to join in the feeding of these fish and our team will spend time explaining how everything works.

PEGS: 20
DEPTHS: 4-7ft
SPECIES:

Tench to 8lb
Carp to 20lb
Rudd to 2lb
Roach to 2lb
Pike to 20lb

Maggots and casters for the small fish and Luncheon meat, worms, sweetcorn and boillies for the Tench and Carp.
BEST METHODS

Float fishing close for the small fish and ledger and method feeder for the larger species. Pike are caught by spinning during the winter months.
ADAMS TOP TIPS

Sit in one of the corner pegs and cast up the side of the bank underneath the trees. Red 10mm boillies is the top Tench bait on the Rudd Lake. If attacking the larger Rudd fish around a foot deep with a strung out rig.

Island Lake

STATISTICS

SIZE:
14.5 acres
PEGS: 30
DEPTHS: 5-9ft
SPECIES:

Tench to 9lb
Carp to 27lb
Rudd to 2lb
Roach to 2lb
Pike to 25lb
Bream to 7lb
Barbel to 15lb
Eels to 5lb
Perch to 3lb
BEST BAITS

Large halibut pellets score well for the large bream and barbel and 15mm boillies work well for the Carp and Tench.
BEST METHODS

Distance ledgering with PVA bags is the method for the Carp and method feeder or convention open end feeder for the Bream and Tench. Pike are caught on dead baits during the winter months.
ADAMS TOP TIPS

During the height of the summer there is some weed around so if attacking the Carp then fish with “popped up” baits to eliminate the bait being buried. Also the method beats the conventional feeder due to the same reason for the Bream and Tench.

Duck Lake

STATISTICS

SIZE:
4 acres
PEGS: 40
DEPTHS: 4-10ft
SPECIES:

Tench to 9lb
Carp to 25lb
Rudd to 2lb
Roach to 2lb
Pike to 20lb
Bream to 8lb
F1s to 4lb
Eels to 5lb
Perch to 3lb
BEST BAITS

Polony is by far the best hook bait on all methods on the Duck Lake followed closely but red and white 8mm boillies. If fishing the pole then soft hook pellets feeding 4mm hard’s works really well and if pellet doesn’t take your fancy then good old worms and casters will sort the skimmer bream out.
BEST METHODS

Long pole for Skimmers and Tench, short pole will catch you huge amounts of Roach with odd bonus fish thrown in. The method feeder comes up trumps when the fish are feeding well, but if they shy off then a little opened feeder or straight lead will keep them coming.
ADAMS TOP TIPS

The larger Carp and Tench patrol the islands, so cast tight with larger baits! Pegs 22,23 and 24 hold large shoals of Bream and Tench close in as it deeper Keep alternating your hook baits, as one day from another can be completely different!
