Environmental Statement
In developing Tattershall Lakes Country Park, Away Resorts Ltd wishes to uphold a continuing environmental responsibility and we are committed to protecting the flora, fauna and wildlife with which we share our holiday park, whilst enhancing the environment for everyone’s enjoyment.
We firmly believe in providing our guests with a leisure experience that allows them to spend time together in a safe and attractive environment. In addition to this commitment, we are dedicated to providing information to our guests on the importance of natural areas surrounding our park and supporting organisations that maintain them.
Our other holiday park, Whitecliff Bay on the Isle of Wight, has been registered for the prestigious David Bellamy Gold Award and as we continue to develop our relationship with the surrounding environment, we hope to achieve the same here at Tattershall Lakes.
The main environmental impacts of our holiday Park is the consumption of electricity, gas, fuel oil, storage of oil, use of water and disposal of general waste. In recognising these impacts, through commitment to preventing pollution and demonstrating continual environmental improvements, Away resorts will:
- Continue to provide guests with appropriate information regarding environmental aspects of the business
- Operate within all relevant environmental legislation
- Prevent pollution
- Continue the introduction of energy efficient light bulbs
- Commit towards continual environmental improvements
- Reduce the amount of water usage with the installation of pressure reducing values and regular monitoring
- Minimise waste disposal, practicing composting and recycling where practicable.
- Encourage guests to use the web site as the main source of information therefore minimizing paper usage
- Source and use electricity as efficiently as possible.
- Ensure the correct storage and handling of fuel oil.
- Promote the natural biodiversity of our Holiday Park.
This policy will be subject to annual review, will be communicated to all team members and made available to all interested parties.
